I was watching the race on TV. The crash didn't seem like it would be bad enough to kill a driver when I was watching it live. I figured Dale was going jump out and be pissed off walking across the track. However after a minute, I started getting worried. It still seemed like it couldn't be true. I was really upset about it that we lost such a legend in Nascar. It's a shame they didn't invent the HANS device before that race or he would have survived that crash.

He'd of been pissed initially, but he would have flashed that trademark grin in victory lane as he watched his best friend celebrate his first win.

but they had...He just didnt want to use it because of the head restrictions.
