Years ago, my parents (now both deceased) worked as volunteers one summer in Badlands National Park in SD. My mom worked in the visitors center and my dad worked at what he described as a “wildlife outpost.” They loved it. No pay, but they got free hookups for their RV. Go to the Badlands website for volunteer opportunities.
