Heat was a good win. Pacers was a good win but also right after being beat down by them the game before. that’s 2 good wins out of 11 and you’re using that as evidence that this team will have bigger success in a much harder stretch without BI?
Clippers win was huge- you just casually forgot that. So if a team beats you the game before- that diminishes the win? What kind of criteria is that? We’ve also beaten several good teams before this 11 game stretch but I guess you forgot those as well.
We beat a playoff team (Heat) on back to back without BI and Zion scored 4 points. We also very successful without BI last year the way Zion has been playing. I just think again some fans need this team to win 20 in a row against every best team in the league to justify believing in them. We’re 17 games above .500 yet we continously have people thinking this team will fail.

Any chance the Celtics take it easy since they’ve already wrapped up the 1 seed? Everyone’s readily writing that one off as a loss in their predictions
Its too early for that. If you start letting your foot off the gas too early its hard to get it going again in the playoffs.
They may rest the last game or two, or on back to backs, but that is about it.

When we play the Thunder, we’re the first game for them on a back to back (they get the Rockets at home the following night). Doubt it, but maybe they rest a player or two or at least try to limit minutes to some degree.

I'd say they are more likely to go hard at us than Houston. Rest guys on the 2nd game.
But there is also some gamesmanship regarding seeding coming soon

this team plays better when one of zion or BI is out. it establishes one main focal point and allows CJ/trey/jonas to ease into their roles. because of that, i expect the team to compete and win most of these.

did you casually forget to watch the game or even peak at the box score? the Clippers were without Harden and Westbrook. consider that win diminished
and yes getting blown out by a team 1 game before beating them definitely diminishes the win, but i still considered it in my 2 good wins

You think the clippers win was diminished because of Harden and Westbrook?? Despite them having their 2 all stars and every other role player available???? I didn’t realize that Westbrook is such a huge guy for them lol
How does losing to a team diminish the win against them? So any win where the other team beat us is diminished now?
I cant even take this seriously. You’re obviously trolling with your ridiculous crazy high standards.
Man according to you it must be god damn miracle that pelicans are 17 games above .500 despite them not having any good wins. The NBA must fix this atrocity lol

Yeah you’re the epitomy of a wet blanket.
The weirdest thing in your assessing of wins is how you conveniently ignore the disadvantages of the pelicans but completely point out all the disadvantages of the opponent. That just shows that your whole argument is flawed.

quote:i am simply using prior results to apply to future circumstances. the circumstances are that the Pelicans play the Thunder, Bucks, Celtics, Suns, and Magic in the next 5 games. so now I go back to the previous 11 games being discussed and identify teams the Pelicans have beaten that are in this same class. do you consider the Clippers without Harden and Westbrook in the same tier as more than 4 of these teams? i do not, so i do not expect success based on prior performance.

There is no one that will agree with you that the clippers win was diminished. Kawhi and PG13 are substantially more important to that team than Harden. By the way we beaten that team twice with Harden- again casually ignored that.

Ok lets use prior results- we have beaten mavs twice, kings 4 times, clippers 3 times, thunder once, nuggets once, wolves twice, warriors once, lakers once, cavs once- but please use this to disect how all these wins are also diminished.

Ton of luck to be 17 games above. 500? We’ve actually blown leads and are clutch record is horrendous but somehow according to you we’re LUCKY to be 17 games above .500??? Again say that out loud to be lucky to be 17 games above .500- how ridiculous does that sound???

Ok please calculate all the wins we got in our season against decent competition on a back to back, wins without Dyson(second best defender)without Zion or BI or CJ or Herb or Trey as well. If you’re going to deep dives in using prior success and what is a good win- do it appropriately. Dont judge just using your own judgement statements on what you think is a good win. Assess all factors and variables not just the opponent disadvantages. While you’re doing that also assess our losses and issues with our plane- like in Indiana. You’re ignoring several various factors to just prejudge something that fits your narrative.

Again assessing opponents disadvantages without assessing the pelicans disadvantages is just a flawed concept. If and when you do this I hope you take into account circumstances and variables where we are at disadvantage whether its a win or loss. Also when calculating luck- calculate how due to our schedule we were unlucky in rest disadvantage when facing an opponent and losing to them. This will automatically bring down your so called luck factor as the “bad luck” balances the so called “good luck.”
My point is being is if you ONLY analyze opponent disadvantages in our wins it is a completely flawed concept and stating we been lucky without analyzing our losses is not properly analyzing our so called luck factor.

They have “shown us” that they can step up against tough competition.
Posted on 3/26/24 at 11:04 am to Safety Blitz
Don’t know how it shakes out with Clippers current form, but we have the tiebreaker for home court right now. We’ll probably be underdogs in 5 of our 11 games left.
Excited to see how we do in this stretch. OKC favored by 1.5 tonight.

bumping this thread now that the 5 games are over
i was called delusional, a troll, a wet blanket for saying i would be happy with 2 wins if zion maintained his level of play against the tougher competition. the pelicans went 1-4, and are a Suns win tonight away from the play in. im not happy, but im not surprised.
has this team shown you who they are yet or do we have more excuses?

They're mediocre at best. This stretch proved it.
Play in and an immediate losing out would not surprise me at all.
