I've been trying my hand at producing some retrowave/darkwave stuff. Currently attempting to work up the nerve to perform them in public.

Finishing the lyrics on a sad country song if anyone wants em.

I will but it’ll be when I get back home after this weekend. Because there is visual supporting evidence from two paintings in my living room - one is a Widespread Panic album cover with Angelina Jolie holding a dove and the other is a cool Willie Nelson painting of him in braids with a sad look on his face. The two paintings face each other from opposite walls and stare at the other general direction.
One night I started strumming and humming lyrics about specific descriptions on each painting and it morphed into a country song about divorce and love lost between two people that can’t or won’t let go of the memories of their early days of love and joy.
I’m writing the last verse but it’s got a nice hum to it. I’m only a marginal acoustic player but if someone with talent had a baw backing him with a pedal steel guitar then I think the song would play well in dives. (Think Don Williams singing about lost love)

Working on getting my gear right.
Just bought an Ampeg 810E and ordered a new main PCB for my SVT-7 Pro.
Then it's back to playing in my home studio by myself.

2 songs I really have hopes for
Lately I work on those constantly.
I want the guitar to be just right.
"Obsessing" is probably a huge understatement

I have 10 acres on the Buffalo river in middle Tennessee, I’ve written a song called “My Redneck of the Woods” that it’s based upon, I’m always looking for tweaks or suggestions from better writers than myself to improve the quality of the lyrics, If any of y’all would like to proof read it and offer any insight it would be fine by me. I’m into old country I guess you’d call it these days, Merle, Waylon, Willie of course if that helps with the style I like.

Been experimenting a bit more with delay... this pedal in particular. It's supposed to be an approximation of an echoplex. It sounds really good to me.

Currently working on 2 EP’s for completely different bands and writing a third album as a rock opera.
Classic rock project
Pop punk/emo project
The demos for the rock opera are still rough sounding, but they’re more post-hardcore bordering on early metalcore.

A Botch-esque rock opera would be... interesting.

More like PtV, Bullets era MCR, The Used, early Beartooth, From First to Last, Bullet for my Valentine, etc. Like mall emo to the max with a crazy story about depression, dying, the afterlife, ptsd, guilt, overcoming fears, and rebirth. It’s more ambitious and heavier than anything I have attempted to make before. Trying to make a collection of songs tell a consistent narrative with just the right mood without them starting to sound the same is a challenge.
Previously, my music releases were just collections of songs I had ready at the time. The albums/EP’s weren’t written with intent. While a general vibe or theme might develop, the songs weren’t specifically designed to go together, and likely weren’t written at the same time.

I'm struggling to record a pretty progressive acoustic guitar piece I've been toying with for about a decade. My biggest struggle has been keeping time. The song has 4/4, 7/8, and 6/8 mixed through it. Once I get a rough playthrough down, I'm going to try to get a drummer friend to lay down a drum track for it, which will then make it more natural for me to lay down the real guitar track. It's just a chicken/egg conundrum for me.
I wish I was savvy enough to set up a drum track, but alas.

Man, those are two very disparate sounds!
What are your roles in those recordings?

I wrote the song for the classic rock one and played rhythm guitar.
I wrote the lyrics for the pop punk one (only wrote some of the music), sang most of the clean vocals, and played bass.
