@politico

The House just approved a $1.2 trillion funding package, sending the colossal measure to the Senate with hours to go before federal cash expires for most of the government at midnight.

11 more bills to go?

This seals it. We are spending MORE than the deal Kevin McCarthy had on the table. Democrats played Matt Gaetz to perfection.

Passed without majority Republican support. Johnson’s days as Speaker are numbered.

There must be an asteroid coming or something. They do not care about the future. Unless they know something else is coming.

GOP leadership highlighted more money to hire about 2,000 Border Patrol agents.

At least spending for border security wasn't totally ignored.

Rep. Dan Bishop

@RepDanBishop

I voted NO on today's minibus bill.

This bill affirms and funds Biden’s open border invasion. At this very moment, Biden is allowing illegal immigrants to pour across our border and is using your tax dollars to sow disorder and chaos in our communities.

Today, 286 members stood shoulder to shoulder to perpetuate this bipartisan sell-out of our nation’s future by passing yet another $1+ trillion spending bill.

The bill is also chock-full of earmarks that fund the radical left's cultural indoctrination crusade against our children and families. They are selling our children and grandchildren deeper down the swirling debt spiral.

Congress holds the power of the purse, but the Swamp has yet again forfeited that power and abdicated our leverage to combat Biden’s disastrous policies. Americans deserve better.

Woe betide the Members who voted for this atrocious bill.

Tough spot for Johnson and Repubs, they will get blamed if things shut down and folks dont get paychecks. With Election coming up, they had to avoid the bad press. And most folks don't care about the spending bill. Yes we know it is wrong, we know they put our tax dollars to crap things but passing the bill will not change a vote.

Just like Trump, we need to play for the long game, the election. Trump needs to change tune to pick up the undecided voter and those that just don't like him so might not vote for him. Just like rocky 2 was it, start righty and then switch to southpaw at the end to finish them off. We need Trump in office and need to keep control of House or take Senate.
