If none are violent felons, they should be able to have as much as they want.
Thats how we roll here in this country. Big scary freedom. Its awesome.

How do you do a background check on an undocumented person?
You don’t, you call authorities and deport them.

You put a qualifier on there that is not in the constitution Roger...
As long as immigrants lawfully enter, as quoted in the opinion SFP quoted, I have no problem with them being armed. The flood coming across the border is not entering legally.
*I'm of the opinion a citizen should be able to own a fully functional tank if they want.

My personal view is everyone, including ex cons have the right to self defend.

Tell that to the people in California, Illinois, and New York. The Supreme Court has allowed those states to violate the 2A for generations. Of course that's for US citizens. The rights of criminal illegals won't be violated, because that is (D)ifferent.

They’re not. They break the law when they step foot in our country.

You aren't clean if you are in this country illegally. You aren't clean if you claim asylum, but came through another country to get here. You aren't clean if you claim asylum and don't meet several other criteria. You aren't clean if you claim asylum, but just came here for a better life.

You need to read the Constitution
The constitution was written for citizens and doesn't address illegals. The US government has unqualified authority regarding our borders and if foreign nationals can enter or not. Only Congress has the constitutional power to regulate everything else. Congress can make laws regarding illegals that are unconstitutional when applied to citizens. There is no congressional law saying illegals can own a firearm. Illegals have very limited constitutional rights. SCOTUS has ruled illegals have a right to due process before they are deported. Woke judges cannot legislate from the bench.

States with strong gun laws and wishy washy results.
If you notice people are leaving those states in droves.

Why wouldn’t they just get weapons in their own country to protect themselves? Isn’t the premise safety for asylum seekers?

An enterprising American (The way they used to be built) would buy a bunch of Bear Creek ARs, set up a booth at the border, mark it up 100% and proift.

I'm in full support of gun control. It's very important to help you hit what you're aiming at.

Thanks for the reminder... I'll need to sell ammo at my AR booth at the border.

On Aug. 3, 2023, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issued a stay of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California’s order in East Bay Sanctuary Covenant v. Biden, 18-cv-06810 (N.D. Cal.), vacating the Circumvention of Lawful Pathways (CLP) rule. At this time and while the stay remains in place, USCIS will continue to apply the CLP rule.
Under the rule, certain individuals who enter the United States through its southwest land border or adjacent coastal borders are presumed to be ineligible for asylum, unless they can demonstrate an exception to the rule or rebut the presumption. Individuals are encouraged to use lawful, safe, and orderly pathways to come to the United States.

What about these?

Specifically, at the end of fiscal year 2023, there were 937,611 pending asylum applications in U.S. Immigration Court2.
