Protein for kids?

Kid #1 needs some protein supplements. He's on some medicine that has a side effect of suppressing his appetite and therefore has lost some weight(10-15lbs). Doctor is ok with weight loss, but we feel like he just needs a little help in maintaining. We've tried premixed protein drinks and he doesn't like them. He'll drink smoothies so we figured some unflavored protein mixed in would do it.
Anyone used this brand or have another brand to suggest?

if you want unflavored, would suggest true protein whey isolate. easy to mix in and doesnt have a lot of taste

Ya, trying to stay with the most unflavored powder available. It doesnt do us any good if he doesnt drink it.

How about Danon light and fit yogurt? 12g per serving. Comes in a ton of flavors and is a pleasing sweet flavor without that artificial sweetener aftertaste. Pair it with some extra spinkles of chocolate chips, or granola, cereal, etc to add texture and more flavor. The strawberry flavor with fresh strawberries and crumbles pretzels. etc. Makes the protein a treat.

Imo he needs to increase calories, not just protein

#2 ingredient in that is high oleic sunflower oil. I would stay away from that mess.

Your kid doesn't like the chocolate Fairlife protein shakes? My kids love those things.
Also, if you are trying to add protein to your kids diet, my kids eat a lot of protein muffins or pancakes. Lots of recipes online. My 5 year old basically lives off of them

Agreed, he needs all of it. Hoping to mix into smoothies, my wife makes them for herself and he likes them, was trying to add something easy.

Buy a Ninja CREAMi and have him eat protein ice cream day and night.
