Disagree. What's missing is competent multi-level on ball creation and distribution, paired with competent off ball shooting. This isn't the 1970s. We don't need someone who is a post scorer to be successful. Baker liked to work out of the post but his lack of shooting and the space he ate on the court caused numerous, numerous problems that I could fully explain but I don't feel like it rn. His style of play was the main reason why this team struggled on both ends of the court. It did not mesh at all with the rest of our players and it caused chemistry issues with him and other players (particularly Reed). Hate to dog on the guy, but he was the main problem (coaching aside).

More than anything we need a big man that can rebound, defend, and act as a genuine roll threat off of PnR actions. A huge reason our ball screen offense was shite was because Dean and Baker weren't genuine roll threats.

That’s why I gave an example of a current player for another conference team. No it’s not 1970, but this killed us in a lot of games — look at MSU.

We mostly agree, I just think he can shoot the J really well for a big guy. And I think Cook was a more consequential misfit personally.

I do really hate to keep dogging him too maniac, but if he's not scoring and I mean like 20 points or more, his deficiencies everywhere else really and I mean really hurt the team in multiple ways...and the games where he scores that much are few and far between. And being that he typically plays about 25 minutes a game this year....most games it's a net negative.
