Wouldn't have hated it and would have been a better backup than Peterson.
Basically, throwing a 5th rounder to have someone challenge Haener for the backup spot. Only downside is Pickett's contract is guaranteed, so would have made walking away a little more difficult if/when Haener (or rookie) beat him out. IMO, definitely not worth the 3rd rounder Philly gave up.

But they didn’t want to offer a 2025 6th for Justin Fields who is the better player. Makes sense with this front office. I always thought the cold weather and wind of Chicago wasn’t Fields’ best place play. In a dome he might have actually showed something.

I’d burn one of those 5th rounders on Milton, from Tennessee. Dude has the big time arm and mobility. But…..no accuracy.
