If I remember right it was OU, Texas, and LSU. I think it was always OU.

yeah OU has got two kids starting from Alexandria right now. Chris Brown and Nick Harris. I don't think LSU was ever really in it for either. Point being Stoops has ties here.

LSU never offered either. LSU also did not offer Frank Alexander.

Harris was the class of 2005. I have no idea what happened with his recruitment but according to rivals we didn't offer him.

Chris Brown was in 2006...and that was the same year as KW, CS, and RM. Clearly, he was the fourth best HB in Louisiana that year. He would not play ahead of those three guys on our team. Sad, but true...OU is having more success with less talent at that position.

Frank Alexander we almost offered but didn't. If we wanted him, we would have had him. He went to UHigh...he was right under our noses. I recall that he also wanted to play basketball....I could be wrong. I think he was the same year as Sidell Corley, Jordon Corbin, Will Blackwell, and Kentravis Aubrey. In retrospect, considering that only one of those guys ended up being a DE (Corley), we probably should have taken Alexander.

There is no case for Brown, though. Harris.....somebody else may know what his deal was.

The point is that these are kids that we didn't want.

They were from my hometown (Probably some of the best players to come out of Alexandria Senior High)

LSU was never in to them though and they were really good players. I remember Bob Stoops came to ASH to visit with Nic Harris. Nick Saban did come to visit Nic but he didn't like Saban as a coach so it was useless. Nic never really liked LSU to begin with (To be honest, I'm glad he didn't choose LSU because he ended up getting more playing time at OU. He started his sophmore year and is probably a first-round draft pick for next year). His top three choices were Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Michigan.

When Nic went to OU, he told Bob Stoops about Chris Brown (grade younger) and Stoops decided to recruit him. Chris was never really a loud, media type of guy. He's more of a Jacob Hester, he always gets the job done without being flashy.

Now both players are big weapons for OU, both of them from LA.

Nic Harris
Senior S
High school: ASH
4 star

Chris Brown
Junior RB
High school: ASH
4 star

Harris was a big miss. I don't think Brown is as big a miss.

Correction....

says a lot about OU's balanced offense (passing and running), but primarily passing.

OU also had the benefit of probably their best offensive line in 20+ years this year...maybe best ever.

That being said, good that both got offers from OU after being snubbed by LSU...speaks well of LA players....

however, I don't hold the same regard for other LA players that snub offers from LSU to go to OU....I have a daughter currently at OU.... she confirms the OU snobbery still exists despite their recent poor showing in bowl games and crappy program during the 90's.....I knew it already from my experiences working with OU fans.

If Randle and/or other LA stars come here, don't expect any respect for the State of LA...you'll get none! Behind your back, they will trash anything connected to it. I say "You go to OU and foresake LSU, just be prepared to be an OKIE for life! Have fun in the frozen waste land...wind and dirt is utopia! At least that's what the OKIES would have you believe!"

+1

Brown would probably be behind Scott and KW.

As for Harris, we really could have used him the past two seasons. ESPECIALLY THIS YEAR.

It is 3:51 a.m. and OU STILL SUCKS!

(For those who don't know, the time and that phrase are repeated ad nauseum by UTexas fans throughout their life -- especially by those who attend the Texas/OU game)
