I see a lot of stuff from other people’s kids today that I would never tolerate from my own.
And I wouldnt tolerate mine being judgemental shitheads that base their opinions on people simply on words they chose to use in their own home.
But apparently thats ok with you.

Lol.
Are you really making the argument that parents should raise their kids based on the cultural standards of the moment?

Yea, how dare parents prepare their children for the world they are actually going to go out into and be a part of instead of the one from decades past! Thats not beneficial at all!

So, you think dropping f-bombs on your kid is preparing them to go out into the world?
Interesting take.

Now you are putting words in my mouth. Sure fire way to tell when your argument has fallen apart is when you start making shite up.
I never said anything about dropping f-bombs on my kids. Your question was about cursing "around" your kids.
And no, I don't sugar coat the world inside my house just like nobody is going to sugar coat the world outside of it.
You should probably just bow out of this one. You're flailing.

My “argument” is that just because my kids are going to hear certain words outside of my house doesn’t mean that they’ll hear them from me (at least not often).
I heard Eddie Murphy say a lot of vulgar things as a kid on HBO. Doesn’t mean I would have enjoyed hearing that from my parents. Today, I hold them in higher regard because of it.
You seem to have a different standard in your home. Cool.
Hope this helps.

You’re right. We teach our kids not to judge people we don’t know. That’s trashy.
Glad we agree on something
My kids are tough enough to not let words their parents say in their vicinity, hurt their feelings or diminish the amount of respect they have for us. They hold us in high regard because of the life we provide them, not the words we use. They know where their bread is buttered.

Cursing is trashy in general.

It appears I will be in the minority here but I don't put emphasis on words around my children. How they are used, context, and that understanding is what matters more than it being a swear word.
All of the dipshit replacement words people come up with are just as bad as designated swear words because of the meaning behind it.
You're a piece of shite and you're a piece of crap have the same meaning and carry the same weight. A word doesn't make it worse.

I curse, my husband curses, the kids curse - but mostly at home . I curse at work
My kids do not curse in front of my mom when she is over.
However, my grandparents and parents cursed - but never said frick.

I’ve grown up around some rough people, my dad being one of them.
I’ve also been in construction for over 20 years… I cus a lot . My kids hear it and I’m not saying I’m proud of it but they are really good kids.
I’m more worried on how
I actually act around them more so than the language.
Words are words and we all know actions speak way louder..

Exactly. But according to OP youre a trashy parent. Cant use those mean words!!
Like Booga and GreenRock said, its about context.

I do my best to keep it in, but it seems to come out especially watching certain sporting events…

I don’t curse around my daughter.
I let her hear Taylor Swift curse instead.
If I curse in front of her now that’s she older she is completely shocked.
I curse more now than I ever did in my entire teenage, 20’s and 30’s combined.

God help a child raised by someone in the military. There were days in the Army I heard nothing but acronyms and the word frick. Maybe an occasion conjunction, rank or surname but otherwise fricking frick. I know wives grew to understand it and I assume kids did too.

If this was in the pre-cellular age, I'd agree with you. People are crazy now through, I don't trust people.
