CJ’s sacrifices have been, and will continue to be, massive for this team

Not only has CJ completely changed his shot profile and transitioned to a more off-ball role generally
He is also completely accepting and willing to come out in close games in the 4th to put Trey in if we believe that will help us win
That is HUGE, especially come playoffs, where, let’s face it, he is a defensive liability and if the ball isn’t gonna be in his hands anyway, it’s probably better to have Trey out there as is
And these are not sacrifices every player of CJ’s stature and caliber would be willing to make at his age
And anyone who thinks that CJ won’t be willing to accept less money for a 6th man role on this team in the future I think needs to reevaluate their perception of CJ’s mindset

I think CJ has done a lot for the org and for the team specifically. However, if Zion truly is finally elevating himself to the place he should have already been, CJ's time here will be shortened.
CJ and Larry's contracts numerically hold a 45 million dollar value. Oddly enough, that money could be used to pay BI and Trey. Trey has to get elevated into CJ's role as the 3rd in the totem pole once he gets paid the salary hes going to command. Funny enough is that Hawk should be the shoe in for Trey's current role and we shouldn't skip a beat.
Your core over the next 4 years:
Zion
Herb
Trey
BI
Your core Bench:
Hawk
Dyson
You then factor in that our playoff rotations will go at most 9 deep and you need 2 bigs for that group, you have essentially one last Playoff position. Which more than likely is going to Jose if Willie is still around.
OR that spot will go to a lottery draft pick that the team can legit just buy.
Either way CJ's need is dramatically reducing with Zion's acension.

I hope his example motivates those more talented than him for years to come.

CJ is the consummate pro in every respect. Glad to have him.

Dude isn't even allowed to work his way out of an ankle injury. It's criminal. He's been amazing this year.

I guess my thing would be if your still that bothered by the ankle- then take a couple games off and get back to it. Because an unhealthy struggling CJ really hurts us.

Are you fricking retarded? Did you even read the post?
The amount of dense idiots on this board ceases to amaze me
CJ is not on that list only due to using his and Larry's money to support the new core for the next five years.
ILL SAY IT AGAIN
CJ IS ON THE LIST FOR MONEY REASONS NOT PERFORMANCE REASONS.

Its funny because me and him disagree on quite a bit of things, one being the need to an actual rim running/protecting big moving forward.
