Didn't Trump Jr talk a lot about how he was gonna reform the whole system including suppressors etc? And then Las Vegas happened and Trump banned bump stocks and that whole movement went away?

Efile form 4 have been wicked short lately I’m seeing on multiple accounts. That’s it though, no other way.

Everyone in the thread is correct about the super short times lately.

Here is why. FWIW, I have a friend who works up there and talked to him yesterday. He related that a Congressman made an Inquiry about wait times based on some complaints from constituents regarding year plus waits. The letter from Congress specifically asked about the AVERAGE wait times.

So marching orders from HQ came in to make the AVERAGE go down immediately. So what they are doing is taking Form 4's that were submitted ELECTRONICALLY via the E-Form system and skipping the step where they send the fingerprints over to FBI and sit around to wait on a reply. Instead they are simply running a NICS check on the person and then Approving the form if they pass NICS. This is resulting in two, three and four day turnarounds.

Anyone that knows math knows that doing this is going to make a bunch of 300 and 400 day wait times look like 60-90 days ON AVERAGE. When they turn the numbers in, Congress is going to say "Oh, 60 to 90 days is cool. Carry on." So expect things to go back to normal after this little game is over.

And before someone says "how do they decide which to bypass FBI and just run a NICS?" He didn't know and couldn't tell me. It's all a charade at this point.

If I want a suppressor I'm making one or getting a couple machine shops to make it. frick the ATF and FBI. I'd never wait on a stamp for something I'm going to use privately.

Are you guys mostly doing individual stamps or is it still worth setting up a trust? Thinking of building my first SBR amd picking up a silencer. Just learning about the NFA process.

I've got several in jail right now, Form 1s and Form 4s.

It's ridiculous.

One of each since last May are my longest.

Those getting them back in a hurry are non-Trust, military or LEO.

I was told the whole pistol brace SBR thing is what threw the process outta whack with over a million of those hitting the system at the same time .... and now those are on hold.

What a mess.

My last one from Silencer Central was easy as pie but took about a year.

However, my current one is a nightmare. Purchased a Banish 45 in October 2023, and they are running it through my current Trust.

Had issues logging into my account with them last year and they could never reset my password. Said they were having technical issues. Eventually had to submit photos via text message with one of their employees.

Haven’t heard anything since October so I tried to login and see what my status was. Still can’t login and contacted them. Said they are still having issues with their website and email system. The lady told me that I still had to sign papers and they have not even submitted my paperwork to ATF!

Said they sent me 2 emails with paperwork to sign in October and January but I have not received anything. She admitted that several people are having the same issue with these emails not getting through. I did receive an email when my payment went through!

I asked her why they didn’t reach out via phone or text message if they know emails are not working. She said they don’t do that. I guess they assumed I would pay $1,100 for something and just not be interested. Especially since they had to use text messaging for my photos.

She said they would resend the forms Monday. So I asked why she thought they would now show up in my email if they haven’t before. Her response, “fingers crossed”. Unbelievable!

So, for all practical purposes, I am 5 months into the process and haven’t even started the process. I asked if I could just cancel my order. Nope! I am beyond the cancellation period.

Very disheartening and it appears Silencer Central has grown so fast that they no longer provide quality customer service.

Will never use them again. In the future, all of my suppressors will be local purchases.
