I wouldn't buy a new vehicle right now, in 3-6 months,

I thought the same thing. It seems like the advertising I’ve been seeing implies prices are more reasonable than they were a year ago with dealer financing that makes it more plausible to buy a car now.

Not me, no. If you go look, average inventory across all brands is almost 100 days, and Ford is like 180 days and Stellanis is over 200 days. That isn't sustainable for long, and prices are coming down, but given the economy, there is quite a bit of room for it to go quite lower.
already seeing discounts of $15K on Ram trucks on average where I live. I suspect it will go lower in 3-6 months.

Year 3.
I just bought a brand new vehicle for about 8% off msrp. Shopped that 8% discount to about 10 different dealers and none even tried to beat.
