YT
I searched for this and got no results. I have heard absolutely nothing about this. I really don't know what to think, but the fact that it was created by the two assholes who ran GoT into the ground doesn't give me a lot of hope. It does look kind of interesting though.

"Wow!"
First movie or series I think that's been made about the wow signal. Interesting.

The books are insanely complicated. Lots of discussion on the book board how this will translate to screen.
As for the showrunners: remember that they didn't do that badly with GOT until his fatness fumbled on the writing and they had to steer the show themselves without any source material. This entire trilogy is finished.

It’s a TV show based off of books, but ok.

Project, whatever.
You do know there is a real “Wow!” signal in radio astronomy , right?
Less thrilled that D&D are doing this but as stated, they’ve got a finished work this time.

It will be interesting to see how they fit it all into one 8-episode season. The books are incredibly dense. The Chinese made their own adaption that is streaming on Amazon and it’s 30 episodes for season 1.

Thing is, the Wow! signal was not in the books. In fact, very little in the trailer seems to resemble the books. Remembrance of Earth's Past is one of my favorite Sci Fi series of books, and I have a feeling that Netflix is going to frick this up.

Then pretty much like everything current day. Take an established IP, gut the story, but use the name and likeness to attract fans while the 'creatives' tell their own story or version of how it SHOULD be told.
Peter Jackson wanted to honor Tolkien, not insert his own messages.

heard rumors that 4 or 5 seasons are planned with about 8 episodes each.
yes i'm still pissed with D&D about the ending of GoT but it can't be dismissed how good that show was for the first 4-5 seasons when they had the source material.
their careers are riding on this so i think its going to be good.

There’s an article in The NY Times wondering why Netflix is giving those guys another chance… Trailer looks interesting maybe because they spent a lot of money on its production values.
