You guys have any seasons relatively recent that were exciting.
If you mean from the modern era of survivor (which I kind of consider "modern" to be anything on Fiji), check out season 37 David vs. Goliath
If you're fine going with older classic seasons, season 7 Pearl Islands and season 18 Tocantins are my personal favorites.

Yeah Tocantins is a top 5 for me too. DvsG is probably my number 1

What I like more about this season is that there's genuine conflict and these people are fine with not liking each other, as opposed to the the other "New Era" seasons besides Shan/Ricard in 41 where everyone tries to hold hands and act like they're best friends.
Victoria from Season 38 was on Tyson's podcast for this past episode and, I've listened to some of the episode and, so far, she's been fantastic. I think too many podcasts nowadays don't give real opinion and just kiss the show's arse, Tyson has even sold out on his podcast a little bit, and I appreciate that Victoria didn't do that.
She made a great point how so many "New Era" people nowadays go on the show to make friends and sell merchandise, whereas she went on the show for the actual money (you know, the point of the show).
I just appreciated her calling the current state of the show out. I would argue a lot of contestants nowadays are also just interested in getting on the podcast circuit, as well.
The good news is that this season feels less like the other "New Era" mediocre seasons.

Yeah, helluva save on Bhano. So far this is a lame season. Hunter seems to be the favorite, for now.

That’s the biggest frustration with Banu and the others kicked from that tribe - there are lots of other players who are way more interesting but we won’t see much of them until a merge or until a different tribe loses immunity.
Hunter’s one of the few getting meaningful airtime so that might be a good sign. The bad news is that his tribe is down a player now so they can’t be full strength at the merge. Hunter was pretty deadpan on the beach while they were giving pinched nerve guy the bad news. Q is from MS too so I wonder if they’ll form some sort of bond over that.

I'm 100% voting out that indian dude next time they are at tribal. What a fricking pussy. Crying asking them to not vote him out when he was never even a thought
This. Jelinsky, the other recent quitters.
The problem I have with casting doesn't have anything to do with race, gender, or sexual orientation. The problem is that too many of them are weak. The 2 issues go hand in hand a little, but not totally. Partly, it probably reflects this younger generation of "soft" people.
I'm tired of quitters.

Also, Jeff is insistent that new-era casts are getting way less food than back in the day.
I believe they are getting less food. I recently watched several really old seasons and there are a lot more reward challenges that give them substantial food. Now, those challenges are much more rare and closer to the end of the game.

Hunter's entire house of Survivor games and trivia is quite impressive. Kenzie is a mean girl.

Bhanu begging on his knees. So bad at this game.

He claimed he was a super fan and has watched every season but had no concept how to play the game. Then, he would blame the other players for his predicament. He even blamed the Hindu gods for his gameplay tonight. He screwed over his 3 tribemates and their path to $1 million got much harder.
Never should have been cast.

exactly. he had zero idea about the game of survivor despite calling himself a super fan.
you know you're bad at the game when they don't even have vote/ read votes.
The green team looks at the one chick who couldn't get the ring off of the pole. but, not a world about the guy completely giving up their lead bumbling around in the water.
Hunter is a comp beast. he rivals all of the other comp beasts over the years. during the immunity challenge, someone even said " hunter gets the ball in his hand and it's over" before he took his first shot.
the house full of challenges... THIS is a super fan. He just needs to up his social game.

I wonder if Hunter looks beast mode because everybody else is awful. Even the Q looked absolutely gassed after swimming maybe 25 yards.
There was a segment about a girl that couldn't jump. She literally couldn't get her thick hips up above 2" and they did a 3-5 min or her feebleness. Hell, she will probably win it all.

I noticed in the camp footage from the episode, he was sitting on the log almost touching the actor. I think those two have a tight bond but the editors have been focusing on other stories. They’ll call the shot to take Soda out when it’s time and the others will follow.
Interesting thing on Jeff’s podcast about the “mood for food” song. The Survivor crew had to do some work before they could air the song because of publishing rights, ensure royalties get paid if it gets rebroadcast, etc. The first step was to verify Soda and the actor were members of some professional organization of entertainers and both of them already were. This points to an earlier post where someone said many new era players were there to advance careers in social media, etc. Maybe Soda’s song wasn’t as spontaneous as it seemed.

We haven't seen his social game because it's been 90% Bhanu and 10% Jem this past episode.
