I think he's been fine there.

Some things I think people need to remember about him playing first base:
- He's still a catcher in practice, because you need a lot of them.
- The NCAA restricts the amount of time coaches can spend with players.
- You can't practice first base alone.

If he were in the minor leagues, he'd be able to spend all of spring training working with infield specific instructors and former MLB firstbasemen moonlighting as spring training coaches. He'd also be able to work there as many hours in a given day as he wanted to.

Right now, he has to balance hitting, catching, and school, on top of adjusting to playing first base with a lack of allocable time and skill specific instruction.

HE'S DOING JUST FINE.

Yea why people villafy the bear puzzles me.

Kid is massive and playing well. Feel like it’s boomers that despise any strike out and would rather a singles hitter than a power guy like Jones
