I’ll never understand why it bothers certain people so much when ULL refers to themselves as University of Louisiana. Do you think the rest of the country will confuse UL with LSU or something? Seems very odd for “big brother” to be so concerned with what “little brother” is doing.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest as an LSU grad... did bother me when I was getting my masters at ULM. ulm/ull are on an even plane, but ULM leans into their regional school identity...they're proud to be who they are...ULL students by contrast try to project the whole UL thing.... guys...yall still play in the same sunbelt conference...you're still a small regional school..which is fine, nothing wrong w it...just don't try and be something you're not..it's odd.

Is the official name “University of Louisiana - Lafayette? What does it say on the graduation diplomas? However, it’s my understanding sports branding has been allowed to use “University of Louisiana” and “Louisiana’s Ragin Cajuns”, correct?

I’ll never understand why it bothers certain people so much when the entire state refers to ULL as ULL. I mean look it up. The official name is the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Looks like you got the problem little brother!

Easy to understand -there are 2 University of Louisiana’s in the state. One is “Lafayette” & the other is “Monroe”. They are in the same athletic conference & are considered equal by the Board that created them (by name other than their previously “regional” desiginations) & oversees their operation. One realizes their important status in their geographic region of the state while the other tries to masquerade as something it is not! Many of their fans have a huge chip on their shoulders about ULL’s secondary status. That is why some many dislike the school & much of their fan base. Own what you are! Be proud of your teams & quit acting like you are a national power in anything other than boudin eating! If you are “Louisiana” then ULM can be called that to!

This!
"Little Brother" isn't a university; it's a fan with a certain mentality. And every school has little brother fans. The ones at LSU are the ones worried about what ULL calls themselves.
