Thank you Cocaine Mitch for preserving the Republic for another generation! Your leadership in ensuring the Judiciary was filled with legitimate judges, most prominently in the SCOTUS, has solidified your reputation as one of the most effective Conservative statesmen of all time. Best wishes in your retirement!

That swampy sumbitch did hit a few home runs. We can do better though

Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, or Rand Paul.

He stepped down from leadership. He's not leaving the Senate entirely.

I like all 3 of these a lot and am probably 90-95% in agreement with them on the issues. However they aren't what you need in a Senate majority/minority leader IMO.

Yeah but he's effectively done. This is likely his last term.

We need to get over this tired conventional wisdom shite.
Anyway, Schumer is much closer to guys like that from a Democrat perspective than this lame notion of what “we need.”

One of the all time great conservative patriots!

What is needed for a leader? Someone who is quick to capitulate? I think a stalwart is needed and a new generation as well. It would signal the recognition that the party has changed and it would rally the troops with all three. Mike Lee is my number one pick.

It's not just conventional wisdom, it's the reality of the facts on the ground. Congressional politics are really hard. The Republican party doesn't merely exist in a TD poli board bubble. The party as it stands today is a coalition of multiple factions and it must work across lots of states in order for it to succeed. The ideological purity tests from the MAGA base (as if MAGA has a pure ideology lol) is complete nonsense. And it especially doesn't work in something like the Senate. This may not be as satisfying to hear, and it may be a bitter pill for many to swallow, but it's nonetheless the reality.

You need someone who can build consensus across the party and occasionally go across the aisle. The Senate rules with a filibuster require this. I wish the entire Senate was comprised of 100 Mike Lees and Ted Cruzes but that's just the way it is.
Running the judicial appointments is actually a unique way we can push for effectuating conservative policymaking. I'm grateful for McConnell pursuing this so effectively.

Hats off to the CCP for lining Mitch's pockets enough for him to step down.

Your distorted preconceptions cloud your ability to even understand what I'm getting at. It's time to get over it. It's not about a "purity test" in the sense you are stating really at all.
