He was awesome there & boosts his pro stock. So good

Perkins is too small to play ILB. That was emphasized over and over. Our lack of pressure on opposing QB's was the direct result of Perkins misuse.

An incredibly clueless post! If you really believe that Perkins would have rushed the passer as a SO like he did a FR, you are amazingly naive. Perkins did so well his TR FR year because of his speed and his surprise factor. Speed is still there but to just lineup along the LOS and expect him to put pressure on the QB now is just...let me put it kindly...STUPID!

Teams know now that if you put a body on Harold Perkins, he is not going to over power that blocker...simply not strong enough. If you want another measure of him not being strong enough, he missed a ton of tackles last season and he was trying to tackle properly and got into position but just wasn't strong enough. The bottom line is his best use is to have him pursue and occasionally surprise blitz. But for some who want him to just announce to everyone, "hey I'm on the LOS and I'm coming", that ship has sailed.

The key is to not let offenses take him out of the play by having him on the outside. He can play OLB, but he needs to have the chance to impact every snap. He can pass rush from the inside like Devin White did on pass plays. He already has sideline to sideline speed. The key will be getting big bodies in the middle to prevent them from getting to the 2nd level. Also, in a 3-4 scheme that may be less of and issue as there are 2 ILBs.
