Have a 2018 Kubota Zero Turn with Kohler ZT 720 21hp engine. The motor starts and runs fine, will cut grass all day on low-mid idle. As soon ad it is revved up past mid RPM's. The engine surges, as if it is starving for fuel. It will still run, but barely stay running as it continues to starve for fuel.

I have changed the fuel filter, air filter, and ran multiple tanks of gas through it since this issue has began. I initially thought it was water that had gotten in the fuel. But i dont believe that is the case.

I ran a large bottle of Seafoam through the fuel and this did not help either. There is a carbon canister filter that is original. I plan on changing it and also the fuel lines. Any other ideas that would be causing this issue?

Could be the fuel pump too, don't forget to test that.

Sounds like either fuel pump or the carb bowl could have a little water in it.

Does the surging occur even if there's no load on it the engine? If not, the high speed jet is partially blocked and you need to clean the carb.
Another way you can check to see if it's fuel related is to rev it up to where the problem starts occurring and add some supplemental fuel into the carb via starting fluid or propane. If the problem clears up, it's most likely fuel related. It could also be a vacuum leak too but that's not very common.

Governor issues can cause surges but rarely to the point of shut down.
