but seriously...this shite is irresponsible but there's no one to stop it because the owner doesn't have a fricking clue

That 2025 number is also without accounting for the proration of Lattimore and/or Ram's huge dead cap.
From my thread on 2025:
Players Without Contracts and Unlikely to be Retained:
These are players without contracts who are unlikely to be retained in 2024 or cut post June 1
Michael Thomas: $9,187,177
Jameis Winston: $7,301,000
Andrus Peat: $6,292,000
Tyrann Mathieu: $7,301,000
Marcus Maye: $6,042,000
Tanoh Kpassagnon: $1,886,000
TOTAL: $ 38,009,177.00
That's $38M in dead cap hits from players who aren't under contract. $38M in can kicking, so to speak. The only way we can avoid that is to extend those guys. Who do you want to give an extension to on that list?

I just don’t get up in arms over it anymore. They have their plan and stick to it, that’s it. Ultimately we need good QB play and good drafts to mitigate any financial crunch, and that’s what every team ever needs to win.

Huge blunder by Loomis to get Carr when your division rival went cheap at the position, which I have been advocating for years to do, and wins the division.
Huge mistake considering we were in cap hell before the signing.
On top of it, two guys they could hae got for nothing, mayfield and Minshew made the pro bowl over Carr…..

This plan was fine when you had a transcendent qb you were trying to extend the window on
The plan is total shite when its surround derek carr with a thin, mediocre roster. Due to some misses and now injuries, you also have to almost totally rebuild your OL with little to work with.
We are continuing to punt for no fricking reason at all.

How do we go about getting one?

I think the regulars get it. Don't want it but what can we do.
I'm waiting for the posters who are..."its savings, everyone does it" to show up and explain why 2025 looks great!

It’s not working anymore. It made sense with Brees (2017-20) and an open SB window. Now they are mediocre and old, do you think old declining players will suddenly get better? The current path is just slowly circling the drain rather than just 1 bad year and reload.

So why not go about looking for good QB play instead of getting tied up in old, average qb play?

"we've just had bad injury luck"
Yeah so does everyone, the true issue is we have no quality depth because we to pretty much rely on the draft and middling FAs to fill holes that continue to spring up as the roster continues to age.
We've drafted overall pretty well but they pretty much have no margin for error as every miss really fricking hurts....yes you Trevor Penning

YOU ARE PREDICTING THE FUTURE AND DON'T KNOW WHAT THE 2025 CAP NUMBER WILL BE SET AT

Well you can’t pull the plug on that immediately. We did make some sound decisions last offseason letting guys like Onyematta and Davenport walk and going with younger or cheaper guys.
I’m not advocating for anything, just saying they build these restructure decisions into the mix when they even approach a new player. It’s what they do, I’m not going to freak out about it anymore.

I’m all for drafting a QB with a high pick over the next 2 drafts

I honestly do not think they did. I believe they saw Carr as a 3/100 contract and other player issues cause them to have to go there.

Who knows. But yes, Penning not being able to play, Ram falling apart and Lattimore being a pussy doesn’t help.

There's no accountability in this organization. It goes as Loomis goes
