The only reason they introduced the "pay the opposing team money" clause was a potential deterrent

Has any coach or player been injured (much less seriously) by fans rushing the court/field?
Clemson allows fans on the field after every game. They've even designed their goalposts to come down to prevent injury to fans trying to tear them down. Doesn't seem to bother anything.
