Ask the grocery store if they can order one. Most can and will.

I tried that with rouses last year and they wanted 7 bucks a pound.

I did. They can get them of course. I'm just trying to do a little shopping around. Just wondering if anyone has a go to.
I forget but I think Saia wanted between 2 and 3 bucks a pound

Whole pigs aren’t cheap. Since the pig doesn’t have time to grow and put on more weight (which means more money), they charge more to make a profit.
If you find one less than $3 per pound, get it.
Associated Grocers stores in BR has always ordered them for me in the past. I believe there are some AG stores on the north shore. Rouses, the “local” people, left the BR company and now pull from an Alabama warehouse.
You can check with Scariano and see if they sell to the public.

Don't you have to have some sorta membership for this? If so, how do you get one?

Membership required. You have to have a LLC / LA Business License.
If you can get a pig from Saias for less than $3 a pound, buy that.

Bruce at Service Meats should be able to get it or steer you in the right direction.
