I don't think Dutton is a stretch out candidate to be honest. I think they'll continue to put him in during higher leverage spots to build him up that way for the SEC. But I think he's going to be a more frequent guy than a longer outing guy.

Ulloa is on that track as well. Guidry obviously.

The only long option from the right side seems like Bucknam, but we haven't seen him at all yet. He could be a guy to come in after Jump and get his feet wet and throw multiple innings.

ETA: I wonder if they don't throw Coleman this weekend and then give him the start at Rice since he's from Houston?

I agree with that. I feel Bucknam can get you through 2 IP though. I feel he can be solid for you once through the lineup. I think you could see something like Jump 3IP, Herring 3IP, Dutton 2IP, then hopefully by that time anyone can throw the 9th or we don't even go all 9.

I did forget about Bucknam though. So that would make a lot of sense. Still think Herring might be the first out the pen just to make sure the game is hopefully in hand before going to some of the other arms. He threw Saturday but didn't reach 40 pitches so should be fine and full go tomorrow.

Dutton’s stuff is just so flat. I don’t think he will pitch in high leverage spots unless a few guys get hurt. He’ll be a innings eater when starters get bounced early or games that get out of hand in later innings in either direction

Anderson is a starter but with Coleman becoming only a starter now, we may see Anderson put in in the middle of games.

Coach said that Anderson would have pitched the day before last outing if it was a tight game

Yea I believe Jay has said that he likes Dutton as a one inning guy most. Maybe one trip through the lineup.

Where Dutton tends to struggle is that second time through the order.

I see him as kind of a bridge guy. Give him the 6th inning to get us to Ack, Herring, Loer, Guidry etc
