LSU WBB and the polls

Two teams with 5 losses ranked ahead of LSU in the poll. Colorado beat us so I am okay with that although the SEC is stronger than Pac12. They just have something against CKM and it will only get worse when she wins another Natty. Just win baby!

They will make a late season push and win the SEC tourney to get a top spot

We destroyed Va Tech. Yet, they’re ranked ahead of us. I’ve corrected it.

So this is what we are complaining about today? LSU women should be 12 instead of 13?

I said this in another thread
quote:
We haven’t received much respect nationally. In the AP poll we have only moved up exactly 1 week this entire season. Started the season at #1, lost go Colorado then fell to #7. We stayed in that spot every week until we lost Auburn, and we fell to #10. Then after two weeks we finally moved up one spot in the poll to #9 where we sat until we lost to Miss State and fell to #13. Where we currently sit while teams like Va Tech jump us from behind in weeks that we win both games.

Hey it's called Tiger Rant. I am just making sure we uphold that banner.

Oh boy. Out of all the irrational "everyone hates us" takes, the WBB one is the lamest.

Ever looked at twitter when LSU women’s basketball is discussed?

Where is the guy that said half the top 25 had no losses?

I wish LSU was 11 in betting odds. They would definitely be worth taking. They are listed 3rd favorite on betting sites.

You got to admit tho, that out of conference strength of schedule was piss poor. That's why they not ranked so high. But that shite don't matter with Coack Mulkey, they apply pressure to whoever in front of them. I love this team.

1. Since we were labelled as a super team before the season any slip up is blown out of proportion.
2. The strength of schedule is bad again. While we beat the shite out of Va Tech it's our only good win. They've won by double digits at Nc St and at Louisville in the last two weeks. We'll probably end the regular season with Colorado, Tech, and S. Carolina as our only ranked opponents.
Basically if we win it's met with "who cares? superteam beating up on nobody" and if we lose "overrated superteam".

2 returning starters. Lost the starting center a week into the season or so, so now Reese is playing the 5 most of the time. Playing 2 true FR in the 7 man rotation. 2 experienced transfers... but still transfers. Point is a problem, Depth is a problem. A weal OOC schedule was likely a good thing.

Nope. Playing teams like Queens, McNeese, Tx Southern, and Miss St Valley does nothing but anchor the sos. If we want to play at Coppin St so Angel gets a home, lets not tack on two SWAC teams. Schedule the bottom of the AAC or CUSA instead of that. The talent disparity is large enough in women's basketball that we'll be fine against them even if we sleepwalk.

Its all about media control. USC is not better than LSU, but theyre ranked ahead because they are trying to get that L.A. crowd to watch. Iowa would lose a game this year but would never get dropped lower than #4. If they stay at 4 thats a #1 seed for Caitlyn Clark which would be easier for Iowa to get to the Final 4 which equals ratings.

I don’t disagree with this as far as the media poll is concerned, but I do think the NCAA Tournament committee will be a little more objective. Seeding LSU lower than we should be would make whoever we would have to face in our region not very happy.

It doesn’t matter what the rankings say. They just have to get the winning streak going. If Morrow and Poa play like they played the last game we’ll go for back to back championships. Morrow was a rebounding machine.

They have better wins and the Pac-12 is much better than the SEC this year so it makes sense.
