In the 90's and early 2000's we had bars in Jackson where it was filled with 20 and 30 somethings. Rodeos, The Dock, Fire, Millenium, and others. Actually had ladies nights on Wed or Thursday nights and girls planned around it .

No such thing anymore here. They might hang at Fondren Public and North Tavern and that's it . Nothing like it used to be. Three things I think ruined it. Covid, smoking bans, and damn phones and their apps.

I don't know if it's because I've grown older, or if the "scene" has changed, but my friend group is much more likely to go to dinner and drink than we are to go to a bar a drink. Or, if we're going to a bar it's usually for pre-dinner drinks rather than post.
