No, you didn't. If you're talking about slaves, they just did what they were told to do. And 'America' goes way beyond what slaves worked on anyway.

ETA: I'd never say black people did nothing, but this 'we built America' line is bullshite.

You ever heard of a sharecropper? I’ll go out in a limb and say there were as many/more sharecroppers than African slaves. The practice continued after the Civil War.

I think people mix up the time period the us became a dominate force in the world.
