It removes oils and smells.
I set a few traps, nothing yet. I've put out my predator calls and been watching one area I've seen coyotes with a rifle.
I haven't seen near as many as usual. Most Februarys you can see one every few days. Maybe it's the warm weather.

Last February there was a group of 5-6 crossing one of my fields walking in single file with about 50 yards in between each one of them.

So they are like Sand People.

It was strange. I was feeding some cattle and didn't have a rifle handy. Saw one go across from woodline to woodline. I thought ok I'll get you later. Then another, then another then another and so on.
I always run 2 donkeys with the cattle and I haven't had a coyote mess with the cows.

This might be worse than using the term "fiddler" for a catfish.

The rifle was in my truck. And when I saw the first trotting through, I thought damn I wish I had it in my hands.
When they're on the move through an open field, if you don't actively have a rifle in hand at the ready, you'll never get a shot off in time.

Glad to see a trapping post. How are due prices these days?

Need a good little mini ice age again. Push the greenheads back south and get fur prices back where a man can have a good side gig.

Agree on the ice age and the mallards.
We need these fricking PETA, anti-hunting, anti-trapping, anti-leather people to disappear. They bitch about climate change and then turn around and “proudly” show off an article of “fashion” made by fossil fuels. They then, somehow, have enough pea gravel in their head to say you and me are destroying Mother Earth.
P.S. that was Mossy Oak’s Podcast and that was owner of Duke Traps and his wife in that podcast Levee mentioned above.

Raccoon low demand for southern however we will invest in your raccoon. We have one of the best coat raccoons in the wild fur market. Prices Bright L-XXXL green 1.25 air dried $2.50
When I was in early teens you could get $15.00 - $18.00 for a coon hide.
My dad had a dog and we would kill / trap a couple hundred a year, it was good money back in the day. I remember cashing in for $1,800.00 one time when I was about 16, I was in High Cotton.
