Sure, but the goal for Wemby right now is different than the goal for BI. Maybe the comparison to Wemby in the OP wasn't the best comparison but the overriding point is correct. BI needs to shoot more 3s.

What may have started out as a halfway silly comp is actually a good comparison because what Baron posted is spot on.

The problem isn’t just BI’s 3pa in a vacuum, you have to look at it in context of the rest of the league and the entire team. The game is trending to the 3 point shot. BI’s 3pa are below league average for a starting 3, but so are Herb’s for a 2, Zion for a 4, and JV for a 5. CJ is the only starter that attempts more 3’s than the average starting 1. Out of Herb, Zion, JV, and BI, Ingram is the best shooter and the logical choice to up his 3 point output and he just won’t do it. Like Atl said, it really limits the ceiling of this team.

The league is changing. 10 years ago the average ORtg in the NBA was 105.9 points per 100 possessions. This year it is 115.9. NBA teams are scoring 10 more points per 100 possessions now than they were just 10 years ago. That's crazy. LINK

I don't think trading Ingram is the answer because we won't get close to equal value back. They need to figure out how to make this work, and in theory you can, you just need to get BI to do what CJ has done. And that's not all on BI, Zion and Willie need to help make this happen.

While watching the game last night I counted at least 4 opportunities BI had to take open 3's off of Zion passes. If he just takes those 4 3 point attempts he would have been up to 7 attempts. I'm talking he hesitated then ball faked and drove. He missed two midrange jump shots, made one, and passed off his penetration on the other. He has to take those shots. We got two points off of those possessions. If he just goes 1/4 on those shots the team comes out ahead and that doesn't even factor in the gravity that comes with him taking those.
