Getting a good group and multiplying those medals is few and far between for me. By the way, the Breaker and Rover have been game changing for me at level 10

Yeah, it's totally a crapshoot. Friday was really the first time I found some people who (i) wanted to do ALL objectives and really maximize XP/samples, and (ii) wanted to play more than a few missions. We were all using mics too, so that probably helped.

Oh yeah, those help a ton!

They're just the publisher, but the dev team at Arrowhead Game Studios said the Sony folks have been doing anything and everything they can to help them with server issues, bugs, patch releases, etc.

Hell yeah, spreading democracy one bug and oil drum at a time!

Max level 50, got all the upgrades.

Breaker and Redeemer best weapons and up to personal choice after that.

If anyone wants some help I'm down to help.

A friend got the incendiary shotgun, it looks like fireworks shooting out of it but it absolutely wrecks bugs.

We swapped to expert level robots and that was... interesting. We would make good progress and then run across two to three production facilities fairly near one another with a patrol group getting a flare off in time (to bring in a drop ship). At various points each of us ended up running halfway across the map just to get free for long enough to summon the other back to the map and reload. I swear at one point it looked like two dozen robots were coming over a hill towards us.

After 37 hours, I have played a grand total of ONE robot mission, and I think it was on Trivial or Easy. Still got my arse kicked.

Am I dumb on matchmaking? If I have matchmaking public I can just start a mission and people could show up and join, yeah?

Yes, but you should activate the SOS Beacon at the beginning of the mission as it will prioritize your game for Quickplay.

My understanding is that if your game is public, people can start matching with you as soon as you enter your Hellpod. I think a lot of people also enter a mission, throw the SOS Beacon, and then return to their ship, because I think the game still prioritizes you for matchmaking?

The Starship Troopers worlds I've gone to are all foggy, I fricking hate that. It may be that I chose a harder path by sticking with the Terminator worlds but at least I could see my death coming for me.

On the other hand though, the bugs are far squishier. I can one-shot the lowbie trash bugs with my Breaker and that's a wonderful feeling.

I love a good balance, it makes me wonder how they would balance a 3rd enemy (which I have to assume is out there... somewhere).

Yeah I go back and forth between bugs and robots. Bug worlds are tough to see.

Should I be using quickplay when I join? So far I've been scanning around the different missions getting "failed to join game lobby".

I usually either scan around the planet and join in missions I like (the raise-the-flag ones are good for quick exp) or click on one that hasn't been started yet and go in solo. Every now and then I get a "failed to join game lobby" message but it's not too often (maybe once in every 7 to 10). I sometimes wonder how much of that is network/game issues and how much of it is the people in that mission finishing it out right around the time I am clicking on it (they need some sort of progress meter to let outsiders know if at least the primary objective has been completed).

I feel like if I start a mission solo I'm just fricked unless someone else shows up. I'm only rank 10. Does the game dial down # of enemies based on # of players?

Build:
- Breaker
- Redeemer
- High Explo Grenade
- 500kg Eagle
- Orbital Railgun Laser
- Energy Shield (Backpack)
- Railgun

This approach generally works for overcoming most challenges. However, there are alternative strategies that can yield similar results. While my builds are usually geared towards assisting in the mission, the aforementioned method will likely suffice for completing most, if not all, missions effortlessly.

Same set up I use except I bring the orbital laser instead of orbital rail. I've gotten good enough with the handle railgun to end a charger or a titan in 3-4 shots. Pop the laser to clean up trash so I'm not wasting primary. Made 37 last night running lvl 7 and 8 bug missions

I just got the Guard Dog with the laser. Is that thing still feasible at higher difficulty? On medium/challenging it's a godsend.

Can you rearm the Eagle to get additional 500kg bomb uses or is it a one-time use for the entire mission?
