Considering he ran the wrong coverage, I don’t think so. Still unbelievable.

If he runs the right coverage, Wake Forest wins the national title. That footnote makes it even better. Played it on instinct instead of by the book

Irrelevant when it comes to how he played defense and executed.

So what if he missed the defensive call? He still had one of the greatest defensive plays ever. And they did practice this defensive play a lot.

I am actually more impressed by this play than say robbing a homer.

There's so much more going on here than timing a jump to rob a homer. I assume he had to fully charge as fast as he could. Then he had to field the ball and immediately toss it home while needing to make the perfect throw. And then the tag was perfect. There was no room for any wasted time. Whereas a homerun rob is just going up to make a catch. Athletic play for sure, but this was some serious precision under incredible circumstances. That's just how I feel. I could change my mind.

I'd imagine it's the best defensive play, but I guess I need to watch the other suggested plays to fully compare. Morgan absolutely saved the game and the season with this play.

It was a good, head's up play that literally changed the trajectory of the CWS.

Some of you people are simply unbelievable.

so Skylar Green's catch against UGA in '03 isn't in discussion for great LSU plays since he ran the wrong route?

That takes nothing away from how great a physical play Tre made. That’s like saying Tanks’s walk-off 2-run homer in the same game wouldn’t be great, if he had missed a take sign.

Considering if he runs the right coverage LSU loses so id say it’s the greatest.

it sure where this comes from.
they all talked after the game about how much they practiced that play.

and this article even talks about that and Morgan getting the signal from Jay.
