Same thing was said in the 90s as well.

They have not been selling out qualifiers. I went to the one at Nissan Stadium in Nashville this past cycle and it was a good crowd, but not sold out even with the upper decks closed.

Now the one in Orlando against Panama, that was a fun arse environment.

I guess the only ones I've been to were all sold out (but all in Columbus). Selling out some oregularly. NFL stadiums (assuming that's where the qualifier in Nashville was held) vs bottom of the barrel CONCACAF squads may not be happening regularily.

There you go again. Hopping in another thread just to post another laughing emoticon without context or content.

You must be mentally ill...or 12 years old.

You provide nothing to the conversation. Go post pics of your boyfriend on Instagram.

Columbus will always sell out because of the Dos A Cero history there.

Gotta imagine with the new Crew stadium, all of our qualifiers against Mexico going forward will bounce between Cincy and C'bus.

The league is basically the CFL compared to the English premier league (NFL). I expect the premier league popularity to go through the roof

What hook is there to get US fans to care about the EPL? In a lot of cases we have no connection to the players, teams, or cities.

For MLB we might live near Houston or Dallas, or we follow Tigers who made the Show.

The same hook that there is for the Lebron fanboys... watch and cheer for the best players.

And it doesn't feel as icky for a league across the Atlantic like it does in the NBA where you have a bunch of Lakers fans from New Orleans going to Pelicans games.

Follow the Americans in the Premier League.

How do people get into specific tv series or movies despite not having connections to the characters?

As someone who picked up European soccer this season, the storylines in Europe are a million times more compelling and the Champions League is where you'll see the best of the best. The sport is so much better to watch when it's the actual top tier athletes on the pitch instead of the watered down product we've gotten used to over here.

Look up Maidstone United and what they've done this year. Incredible stuff.

Same reason European people would watch the nba.

I would never care about a mls game. I might as well watch girls soccer.
I’ve watched enough of Wycombe and Wrexham to see the huge difference between the EPL and the lower divisions, as well as the vastly inferior MLS. If you like soccer, and understand the game, you’d want to watch the EPL and champions league b/c it’s the best of the best.

Why would you want to watch anything inferior, if you cared and liked that sport?
And the promotion/relegation aspect of European soccer is vastly superior to American sports. I really wish college football would implement a promotion/relegation type system. Would be awesome to see someone like SMU or ULL earn Big12 or SEC money while Kansas and Vandyvget kicked out for sucking arse constantly.

Bingo. The main draw to European soccer to me is how the competitions are structured. Again, getting to use Maidstone United in the FA Cup this year as an example.

That'd be like some local city league baseball team beating one of the best AAA teams in the minors in their own stadium. It's fricking awesome.
