How would these F1 drivers do if you put them on a bicycle and made them race in the Tour de France? Keep in mind that things like vision, reflexes, coordination and focus would presumably transfer over. They would get left in the dust because of the whole muscle and stamina thing.
This is a terrible comparison. Of course an athlete specializing in one sport would get smoked in another sport. There are very few Bo Jacksons in the world.
That said, there is one current F1 driver that regularly podiums semi-pro cycling races.

Fair enough. Let's use a different hypothetical. Take average sized players from every sport,(football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, tennis, wrestling, etc.) including auto racing, and have them compete in a 2 day decathalon - the recognized standard for "greatest athlete in the world".
The drivers are getting smoked. Sure they will beat the golfers and some others and put up a good fight but they aren't going to measure up to what we consider professional athletes. Doing something with a car is simply not the same thing as doing something with your body.
