Mallveto will have the defense properly prepared for the Triple Option.
I'm more comfortable with the fact that it is not the spread or a west coast style passing offense, but I still have reservations about the defense being able to handle it. The defense has to be very diciplined in gap coverage to defense this, and this was also something LSU struggled with at times.

I don't know...do you think they could run through this? It's called fromage du Malleveto...and it's gonna light up the yellow jackets.

Wait was that a serious question or a joke?

I never thought I would say this, but I honestly hope they don't -- I want NO DOUBT in Miles' mind that they need to go. I'm wary that if they come up with a great defensive scheme it might salvage their jobs.

It's the best possible match up.

I have zero confidence that either knows how to coach against the option. Miles says he has seen it alot and is very familiar with it so that will help, but that doesn't mean dumb and dumber will be able to teach it to our guys.

it'd be nice if we won 55-54, giving up like over 200 yards rushing but winning with a field goal, and securing the end of mallveto

Or going up 55-3, with Ga Tech mounting a MONSTROUS comeback making us all laugh, only for them to fall short.

BAM!

All I gotta say is that if we're to win this game - Jefferson, Williams, Scott, Toliver, Byrd, LaFell, Dickson, and company, are gonna have to SCORE SCORE SCORE SCORE.

I think they can. I think LSU will win and the score will be something like 48-42.

Having watched a couple of our latest games with the benefit of the DVR remote, this is our biggest struggle on defense, imo. I saw numerous plays where some of our best defenders overran their gap responsibilties and our safeties were horrid in run help.It wasn't just coaching, the players did not live up to what we know they can do. That is on them as much as the coordinators because effort and teamwork on D is a players responsibility, imo. That goes for the vets on this team and they will decide how well we play. I think it can/will be handled well with the staff because of the lack of a consistant pass threat that most of our other opponents brought to the table.

Someone mentioned that this is our best possible match up, and I agree, as long as the PLAYERS come to play.

I think going playing Iowa or Mich St woulda been better matchups, they have good traditional running games and not much else. We really do have to stay disciplined against Tech, but how many times have we heard "we're not gap sound" this year? Kinda worries me. I think the D will step up though and we figure out a way to take a close one. Our OL vs. their DL is gonna be huge.

yea iowa or mich. state would be best for us. we would crush both of them.

I have 0 confidence that mallveto will have a game plan. these guys have no clue. Also our team has quit so i doubt our d puts up much of a fight. when players let troy get up 31 to 3 and then they dont even fight against ole miss we have problems. Add the silly penalties and laughing after blowing a 16 point lead up and it looks like they dont care. I would love to win but we are on a major slide and all signs point to miles has lost control of this team this year

i'm tired of hearing this too. the boys have to have some discipline and pride left in them.

very big aspect that isn't being discussed as much with defensive problems being of most concern. they have a pretty athletic front and we have to get at least one of our RB's going or it won't matter how well we handle the option attack defensively. JJ or JL will need some help.
