I have an mk iii, but the southern humidity hasn't been great for its finish. It has pitting. It's been my kitchen drawer gun for the last 15 years 
my dad got it during seminary in the early 70s, I stole it for $2-300 20ish years ago. He wanted a smaller .38 revolver for his mid 50s on, so I was glad to donate to the cause.
