Why that grinder? Just curious

I buy beans for espresso from the same dude each week and don’t jump from bean to bean. This grinder has large burrs and a good reputation for consistency. It’s also supposed to be very quiet and very quick. I can dial it in and dose quickly with this machine.

I currently have a Baratza encore esp. It gets the job done but it is loud and throws grounds all over due to static and just the way that it is.

The Eureka works well as a single dose or using the hopper. If using the hopper i can just push the portafilter against the button and fluffy grounds will shoot out, quietly. Super easy.

I was getting annoyed by my Baratza. Too many trade offs. Like anyone irrationally engaged by something, i had to upgrade. Getting this particular model at about $180 under domestic price made it an easy call.

Made a rookie mistake this morning. Halfway through my shot, the water ran out. I still drank that under extracted sour bomb. Going to pull another one mid morning.

I'm glad to hear it isn't just me, the static when the humidity is low just makes a damn mess.

Also have a Mignonette Specialita for the same reasons really. Had it for about 5 years. Great machine. Use it with Joe Coffee Waverly blend.
