Batteries Not Included(if that was made in the 80's I'm not really sure).
If not, it's Under appreciated either way.

Valley Girl, the only time Nicholas Cage acted in a movie except for Leaving Las Vegas. I thought VG was the most under appreciated of the 80's teen movies. Great soundtrack and really good characters.

Plus, I always thought the chick in that movie was way hot.

Wow, a LONGTIME cable subscriber. Great movie. I was glad to give Don Ameche an identiity other than Mortimer Duke.
My choice, made better by virtue of the fact that it's not in this thread is:
STREETS OF FIRE
The cast alone is pretty amazing - Diane Lane, Rick Moranis, Willem Dafoe, Amy Madigan, Bill Paxton, Robert Townshend, Deborah Van Valkenburg (for you Too Close for Comfort fans).
Score by the legendary Ry Cooder and songs by Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks.
All that and a kick arse pick axe fight at the end. What else do you need?
