Some story yesterday about the perp's day had him freaking out, vomiting and shaking all over.
Someone, surely NOT the spiritual advisor, had told him that this death was going to be slow and painful and the perp was scared.

Maybe they should switch to pure hydrogen. If he hasn't stopped moving after five minutes, send in a spark. That would be painless.

Edit: It still worked, just not the way expected
My understanding is it worked exactly as expected. His struggle was from him trying to hold his breath as long as he could instead of just breathing.

I always though nitrous gas was a pretty easy way to go. Hook up the tank, put a bag over your head, goodnight. What's the problem?
