I heard on the radio this morning that the Hon. Gov. Abbott is being called a "traitor" for refusing to allow the fed govt the ability to do its job properly, in regulating immigration.

NPR?

What specifically is it that the federal government is trying to do to regulate immigration that TNG is not allowing? Not looking for the broad "federal government is responsible for regulating immigration" answer here, I'm asking what specific actions is it that the razor wire prevents?

I heard the MSM accuses people of being a "traitor" because that is in the libtard/Democrat playbook. Accuse others of what you are doing. The great majority are rooting for Gov. Abbott.
