I would stop living if my son died. I refuse to even imagine going through that.

I am sorry about your situation and I do not mean to presume anything about your medical care but you should consider consulting with Alton Sartor at the Mayo Clinic. If you haven’t already He is a NOLA guy who was recently at Tulane and moved to Mayo about a year ago. He is a PC guru and they are keeping people alive a long time. God bless you and your family

My father was in radiology sales for a large company from the 90s to a few years ago. Frequented hospitals as part of the job. Rarely saw him upset. Except when his dad died and when he'd come home from going to children's cancer hospitals.

While my father was being treated at M.D. Anderson, we inadvertently got off on the wrong floor. Stepping off the elevator, we were confronted with the sight of a large waiting room full of children. Well over 50 kids of all ages. And we were told that there were 2 other floors for children with cancer. One of the most sickening sights I have ever seen.

As a father with two young children, these threads always scare the hell out of me.
I cannot and do not want to imagine the pain caused by this.

Having had leukemia twice it's incredibly variable. High risk, high reward. A surprising amount are at a minimum treatable. Certain genetic markers make it highly resistant. I relapsed and went to stem cell transplant and I'm here 8 years later, but some try multiple stem cells with no luck.
