Ted Cruz 2.0?

That was a good read, thanks.

Reinforces most of what I thought about Axiom Strategies and Jeff Roe's influence on the campaign. They run generic, cookie-cutter conservative campaigns aimed at an older, outdated model of Evangelical voters. And they spend too much.

quote:

At the kick-off of the meeting, the team introduced themselves and gave a brief résumé of their past campaign experience. My political Spidey-sense immediately started tingling because I began to hear the same thing repeatedly: “I worked for Ted Cruz in 2016.”

Yep.

quote:

They said that the super PAC was sending mailers and working on door knocking, and they emphasized that the consultants from the campaign were not getting rich from it.

Jeff Roe openly brags on his own X account about how much money he's made from consulting.

quote:

It seemed like money was being spent quickly for no reason. Why did they have door-knockers in Texas already? It looked like the fox was minding the hen house.

I had a guy knock on my door in Houston in AUGUST of 2023. Our primary is in March of 2024. Dude said he was down from North Carolina to "spread the word." So....they were paying for people to travel to Texas, to blockwalk, 5 months ahead of the Iowa Caucus, and 7 months ahead of our primary on Super Tuesday.

I get extra interested in this particular topic because this firm, and a couple others like them and closely associated with them, have their fingers in local races too and I get tired of seeing competitive races thrown away, despite fundraising advantages.

ETA: and if anyone is remotely curious, this is the (massive) doorhanger I got. Not sure if it's the same one they used elsewhere, but it looks pretty generic.

*since I forgot about mentioning this back in the Summer.

Yeah, but you can't watch, Adam.

Other guys might let you film as they bang your wife, but I'm not into that.

Yes, Ron is a good – even great – candidate. Yes, he’s an accomplished governor. Yes, he’s more conservative than Trump. But Trump’s base is immovable. Supporters of DeSantis can say “Trump put a leash on him” or they can denigrate republican voters for not being true conservatives. They can say whatever makes them feel morally or intellectually superior to the average working-class Trump supporter. But those justifications require one to completely ignore the circumstances and events of the past 8 years that have led to the galvanizing and solidifying of Trump’s base. The majority of those who have and will vote for Trump, also voted for McCain and Romney, and in primaries, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson and Rand Paul. And, who in the absence of Trump would gladly have voted for Ron DeSantis. Regarding true conservative Ron DeSantis, the GOP establishment donors who once backed him are now pouring untold millions into the campaign of Nikki Haley, a blatantly corrupt neocon who no one asked for.

I find much to agree with and little to disagree with in this analysis.

I would only add that the neocon donor class who are backing Haley seems to have infiltrated DeSantis’ campaign with their ilk just as they infiltrated Trump’s administration.

That DeSantis’ media chief is a neocon hack and probable former Deep State operative is evidence of that.

Again, I think DeSantis is one of the best governors in America and I have nothing but respect for his stand against State mandated medical tyranny that we saw during the COVID-1984 insanity — which in no small part can be attributed to Trump’s disastrous and self-defeating policies during the pandemic.

The point here is the embedded corruption of the permanent reigning bipartisan political class is so pervasive that no single Presidential candidate — no matter how honorable — is going to effect lasting change in the Potomac Beltway.

Presidents come and go but the Deep State rules in perpetuity.

No, if Liberty is to return to this once great nation, it will necessarily arise in nullification, subsidiary and even secession movements in the individual states.

They ran a grift using Desantis as a vehicle. Simple as that.
These professional campaigners that have been doing this shite for decades grabbed on to Ron and told him to run. Jeff and a few of his teammates convinced a few billionaires to jump in and they were off.
Now, Desantis, a good candidate, is tainted and the "professionals" are a little more rich...and, in search of their next grift.
It is sad, but this is the state of politics today. I realize that this is a cynical view; however, I believe it has merit.

I realize that this is a CLEAR-HEADED view; however, I believe it IS UNDENIABLE TO ANYONE WHO WHO DOESN’T SUFFER FROM TDS AND SEEK TO BLAME TRUMP’S SUPPORTERS FOR EVERYTHING WRONG WITH THE GOP.

FIFY!

Who Is To Blame For DeSantis’ Horrible Showing In Iowa?

DeSantis is responsible for the poor showing. He is running for leader of the free world but can’t even get a small midwestern state to vote for him.

He wants to lead, is the decision maker, he’s showing his skills perfectly!

If he was even a shred more genuine and less cringeworthy and didn't look and sound like a cartoon character, he would have gotten a lot more votes.

This is truly a ridculous thread from clueless morons.

He has had FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS SPENT AGAINST HIM.

50 million.

More than Trump and Haley (or Biden) combined.

Trump has relentlessly lied about him since 6 months before he announced and then ducked him like a coward so he didn't have to actually have anything addressed

When the establishment lines up against you, and you are everyone's focus in terms of negative monetary support, its almost impossible to overcome.

The Conservative media lined up against him as well because they are petrified of angering MAL.

It is what it is.

Any other narrative is complete and utter nonsense.

This is absolute nonsense, and for a Trump fanatic to talk about grift with anyone else is just mind numbing.

The establishment lined up against him and was relentless. Its hard to overcome that.

Once the Democrats indicted Trump it was over. Republicans are stupid, so they lined up against him despite any logical reality.

I think Desantis, and Ramaswamy will be great presidents in the future. Their failings now is due to being too much like Trump, and voters like me will vote for Trump now because this is his last go around based on age. The other two's time is coming.

Bless President Trump for showing those that will follow him how to expose, talk back too, and otherwise dismantle the biased treatment from the MSM.
