Wow you sound like a working actor in Los Angeles that isn't working. You don't deserve to watch movies or breath this air if you think that performance was overrated.

Obviously a fan of romantic comedies. How was that performance over-rated?

I thought that Ledger was exceptional in TDK, but to play devil's advocate........

There were some here that overrated his performance.

Anytime you have greatness there will be those who scream overrated just to sound cool.

Absolutely. Well deserving of a GG (and Oscar) nom.

I predict Sean Penn will win the Oscar, and then give it to Ledger's family during the acceptance speech.

Well, something that is considered great can only be properly rated or overrated. It inherently CAN’T be underrated since it’s already so rated…

anyway, it was a great performance. And if you look at the nominees, it’s head and shoulders above most of the other performances. Tom Cruise was funny, but it was a one-note joke. Same with Downey, only without the funny. You have to be kidding me for the plodding period piece of The Duchess, which I saw and can barely remember. Which only leaves Hoffman, who is always awesome and I can’t wait to see Doubt this weekend. It’s a two-horse race.

A lot of love for The Reader and Revolutionary Road in those noms. Neither has come out yet for most of us.

I don't think his performance was bad, in fact, I think he was a really good villain. But people want to make his performance out to be some kind of landmark achievement in acting, and I think that's too far. His was a good performance in a good movie. FWIW, I'm not as big a fan of TDK as most here. I liked Batman Begins better.

I thought it would be, but actually thoroughly enjoyed it. His role made that movie for me.

If not for him, all we'd have in that movie was Christian Bale doing a horrible batman voice and an ugly famous sister as the leading lady.

Has there been a better performance in a superhero film ever? Definitely above what the Tropic Thunder nominees did. Anyone seen the Fiennes performance? I'll see Hoffman's movie (even though I've hated every movie that Charlie Kaufman has written... all overly pretentious for my tastes).

Ledger's performance wasn't the greatest of all time, but it was the best that I saw this year, and it elevated the Batman movie above its genre.

I think Maggie is hot, and a better actor than her brother.

She didn't have much to work with in Dark Knight. She's an awesome actress and can turn on the hot when needed. Loved her in Secretary.

me too. She is the one woman in Hollywood that is considered hot by most that just does it for me...and she is a great actress.

well her and Zooey Deschanel:
