Deer Valley, Utah question

Been to PC a couple of times but really would like to try DV next. Are the 2 main areas Snow Park and Silver Lake? Is there a way to get back and forth between the 2? We use the PC bus to get to Main Street many times so I know how that works.

I have no idea why anyone would go to Deer Valley with Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude there.

Eta: that's not a jab towards you tigertown, but more of what I picture the crowd that goes to DV. It's an upscale ski only resort with what I hear gold-esque toilets in the lodge...

My wife doesn't ski and she loves Main St. How far are they?

Those ski resorts are on the other side of the mountains. In the summer, 30 min to Brighton. Currently, over an hour because you have to go over the mountain pass via the highway then cut south. Do you have an iKon pass or just going to buy day tickets? Skiing is definitely a lot more difficult/tougher mountains at Alta, Solitude, Snowbird, and Brighton.
If your wife likes park city then enjoy your time over there. If you're there for 5 or 6 days and want to venture over for a different ski day, then try one of those mountains across the pass. There's plenty of free buses from carpool lots to get you up to the mountains if you don't feel like driving

We used Epic Pass for PC but will need Ikon for DV plus we have to reserve? Sounds like they limit the amount of skiers.

If you don't already have an iKon pass they stopped selling those back in December. Meaning you'll have to buy your day tickets from the resorts at their markup. If you do have the iKon pass or are talking about next season, then certain resorts require you to reserve the days on the pass. I think deer valley is one of them but you may want to confirm. Alta, snowbird, Brighton, and solitude do not require reservations on iKon, however a few of them do require parking reservations. Snowbird is free parking so most people end up parking there and using the gates up top to ski over to alta

You don't have to mess with the canyons and a lot of people there just ski groomers, leaving some fun glades and chutes to lap. It is the Beaver Creek of Utah.

I've only ever driven there and always park at Snow Park. There is pretty good mass transit in PC, so I imagine there are buses that can take you around.

Hate deer valley for the actual skiing aspect. Unless you love ripping groomers then you’ll love it.
Glove warmers while you use the bathroom are nice though
. Find you a rich friend who has access to one of the membership lodges. Makes the experience MUCH much better. Once skied with a guy who had access to 3 of the on mountain private lodges and it was a game changer.

I think the easiest, general answer is, DV is for families, groups or people not looking to challenge their abilities as much as they are looking for less a less crowded experience, no snowboarders, less "riff-raff". Your resort and dining options are some of the nicest in the area. The service and staff are top notch but if you're looking for a place to "shred", it may not be the best fit.
That being said, it's answer.
I love Brighton. Love Canyons. Love PCM all for different reasons but DV is different from all of them.
My wife said it much simpler, one one word; it's boujie.

That I will agree with. The St Regis tent also has a DJ Apres scene which differs a bit from PCM.

Went to Deer Valley on my honeymoon the winter after Covid because we were nervous about not being able to leave the country or get back if we got sick, etc. Anyway, neither my wife or I had skied before, so I don't have anything to compare it to. It was really nice. Took a lesson on the first day, wife needed a second lesson. There were a bunch of nice green slopes for us to cut our teeth with all the kids hauling arse past us. Was hitting some blues a couple days in. The shopping was nice, and PC with all the restaurants was very nice and Salt Lake wasn't that far to go into a bigger city. We weren't into just skiing the whole time, so maybe our opinion doesn't help from that standpoint. I do understand that a bunch of other ski resorts, especially in Colorado, are in very small towns with limited options on eating out etc., but then again, that's what I've heard. I'll go back with my kids.
Also, we had stayed at a VRBO right near the main parking lot/lodge, so we walked across the street and hopped on the parking lot shuttle. Used a concierge that fit us with skis at our condo, and we just left them there when we checked. Very easy.
