The new mayor wants the sheriffs department and the rest of the parish to foot the bill for policing that god-awful shite hole. They’ve been trying for years to get a Bogalusa city school system, absorbed into the rest the parish again so everybody else has to pay for that shite hole of a city. Thank God, the parish government has maintained its sanity.

The city is unable to capably run a police department, school system, or much else. There is no one smart enough in the city to do so.

The only way to save that place is to let someone else - like the parish - take over.

It seems like he at least recognizes the shite show in his hands. And kudos to the parish for not wanting any part of it. No doubt he has his work cut out for him.
