JV can't defend on the perimeter.
JV would be fine against Joker on the perimeter. Nuggs would be screening to get JV off. If JV was such a liability, they wouldn't need to.

Jokic would play him off the court real quick.
I don't think so.

Even homers aren't this delusional.

There is no perfect “replacement” for Val at his price range for what he offers.
Our best solution is to try and keep him while drafting/ acquiring young centers until we find our guy.
You’d give up salary or assets for a slight upgrade.
If we can get Val back for around 15mil that would be a steal. It’s just a question of if he’d want to come back in my opinion.
This is unless Turner or someone else just flat out says they want to be here somehow
I just dont see a lot of trades that will be available to us. I would love to get Jarrett Allen. I also highly highly doubt the Cavs would actually trade him.
It takes 2 teams to make a deal and most of the guys we've heard that are available arent a need for us.

Fans often blame a players flaws rather than roster problems, which is really odd considering how quickly fans will trash a GM
This is great and feel like this nails it. The JV hate is largely because Jaxson Hayes was a complete bust, Nance has largely been hurt, and Griffin has just failed to get any quality depth at the 5.
So we watch JV go out there and try to perform beyond his skill set. And being the consummate pro he is, he tries and tries again.

Its not delusion. Its watching the games.
I'm not saying that JV would shut Joker down. No one does. I'm just saying that he would be valuable against Joker in a series, banging around inside the paint. You wanna chalk up anything JV does against Joker in the regular season as cruise control, then go ahead, I guess.

Then you'd realize Jokic averages 31.8/13.8/11.9 on 67.3/36.1/78.2 shooting splits against JV since he's been a Pelican.

defense is no longer the name of the game
Good defense is rare today because elite offense, ball movement is everywhere. The offense/shooting in todays game is way better than it was in the 80's-90's

We don't need to trade JV we need to add long athletic center or power foward you can do that with picks or draft one this summer

unfortunately so. I'm not a fan of betting against my team, but it's a good night to place a bet on a Jokic triple double, which is a +175 bet.
After Jokic and Embiid, name another center in the NBA that you can give the ball to in the post and have him dominate games offensively. I"m not saying JV can do this every game, but when the matchup dictates it, he absolutely can and has many times.
JV has put the other teams big in foul trouble plenty of times this year, and taken over games himself. Getting the other teams shot blocker in foul trouble is great for Zion and BI.
I do'nt want to trade JV, or Larry. I would prefer to draft a 5 that we can mold, but i'd really rather just make a trade for a more proven big on a rookie deal, or at least one that you can see promise from. Day'Ron Sharpe comes to mind. Problem is i wouldn't trade a 1st for Sharpe, at least not without getting back at least 1 really good 2nd round pick, and then 2 or 3 more future 2nds, and Brooklyn doesn't have any good 2nds to give.

People jealous of white men with 12" dicks

No one can defend Jokic. Not a single person in the world.
Same for Giannis.
Trying to find someone who can is pointless.
Stop everyone else.
Murray is good, but Herb/Dyson can slow him.
I'm a big believer in letting the truly elite guys get theirs and take away everything else.
If Jokic scores 50 but only has 8 assists and no one else is above 15 points, you probably win.

Never viewed him as a liability. Everyone thinks the center position should be 7 foot, dribble like a guard, and bomb away from 3. I like having a guy who is more traditional and does the under appreciated dirty work.

Maybe that's because you made it up?
Jonas doesn't get hate here. He is always praised for his work ethic, his durability, his elite rebounding skill, and more.
But there are also some of us who recognize that:
- Last season, we were better off when he was off the floor.
- We did not close games with him last season, and we do not close games with him this season, because he is a significant defensive liability.
- This season, our starting unit has been our worst unit, especially at the start of the 3rd quarter.
All of that leads to the conclusion that JV is a poor fit with our Big 3. We would be a better team with a center who fit with them.

I’m all about getting a defensive center but I don’t want to trade JV. We should trade Kira and Naji and a pick
Posted on 1/12/24 at 8:24 pm to L5ut1g3r
Neither do I. I hope we can bring him back next year on a fair contract. He’s still got a lot of gas in the tank.
