Has this board ever gotten together to play something like Settlers of Catan?

don't know the answer to that.
For those of you who like Baldur's Gate but don't want to get too far into the weeds of a DnD experience, Gloomhaven and Frosthaven are awesome options that share similar mechanics (use cards instead of dice, advantage/disadvantage, party up to 4 characters, etc)

Last time I've done this was playing a game like Sorry! with my family as a kid.
Always ended in tears and my younger sisters thinking my parents didn't love them.
Good times.

I'd love to play the Battlestar Galactica board game. Not sure if there is more than one so to specify the one that is in the "secret traitor" genre. IK used to play the hell out of Throne of Lies on steam and loved that genre.

I've always wanted to play. I wish my place was centrally located. I've got a big room at the restaurant we could use and I'd take care of food and drink

I've never played that, but I play the shite out of Ticket to Ride.

Much prefer the whole act of getting people together and making a night of it

Gloomhaven
Great game and the PC version is outstanding. Put way too many hours into it.

What games are you enjoying right now?
Just got into the hobby last year with some light/medium light games:
Quest for El Dorado
Camel Up (partyish)
Carcassone
Wavelength (more of a party game)
Cascadia
Herd Mentality (party game)
Castles of Burgandy
Looking to get into a few heavier games. I think our heaviest right now according to BGG is Castles of Burgandy at 2.99/5
Of course I started with Catan, as have many over the years

Castles of Burgundy is a good one. Lately I've been playing Ark Nova, Great Western Trail, and Dune: Imperium, among other games.

Just broke out the rule book for Castles of Burgandy a couple days ago and downloaded the app. I finally understand how most of the tiles function. Now have to teach my wife and bring it to the table. I bought the 20th Anniversary Edition.
But holy shite, what a game. So much better than Catan. Hopefully I can keep everything straight without the help of the app.
It's my first light-medium Euro. I understand why people get hooked into heavy board gaming now.

Yes, Catan is a good introduction to modern board games but it's really not a great game.
After you've played it a few times you start to see its flaws. (It's way too luck-driven, and you can get stuck in an impossible situation where you can't win even if you play smart and you just have to wait for the game to end).
