Ironically, 2 years ago people would have laughed at Paul Skenes or his parents if they told someone that he was going to pitch in the MLB. He is perhaps the poster child of how far we've come in understanding the biometrics of throwing a baseball hard. Unfortunately, he very well may require TJ at some point in the near future.

Legitimate question here. At what point did he start throwing at such high velocity? IIRC, his velocity took a big jump in the brief time he was at LSU. I have a suspicion he wasn't throwing high velocity in his earlier years. Nothing against the Air Force Academy, but if he was, he prolly wouldn't have ended up somewhere other than the AFA. A big factor in the need for TJ surgery seems to be high velocity in young, still growing/developing arms.
