This is what Alabama does. They will not hire a young coach who has limited experience at another school. They went 24 years between the Bear and Saban with only National Championship.

They were able to pull Saban away from the Dolphins but unlike Saban, Smart has a long history with UGA with a sense of pride & loyalty to that program. That's the biggest difference here.
