The hate for Corey Raymond by a group of posters on this board boggles my mind. Did he molest your Cub Scout troop or something? Few of us think he's the best DB coach in football, but he would be an entirely reasonable and safe hire. I'd much rather him than gamble on another coach who's never done it at a high level.

Why is the fan base so divided over Raymond? When his name pops up on here it’s always a good amount of upvotes and downvotes.

He's not even close to the best DB coach in college, not even top 25. I get why y'all love him, he played here, coached here for a long time, but the guy is not a good X & 0 coach. Maybe he can still recruit at a high level, but he is not a great football coach. You need actual ball coaches. Hiring "recruiters" is vastly overrated. Steeples, also not a good coach. The love for Raymond on this board, just shows how much people don't know

He constantly flirted with other jobs in an effort to hold the program hostage, which caused him to miss on several high profile recruits, plus he is a cancer in the locker room whose players’ on field performance has significantly declined.

If you hire Corey Raymond, you better bring in some actual coaches that surround him. He gets so much credit for players that were already here before he got here. Aranda was spread so thin trying to coach LB's and secondary, he begged O to hire another coach. He hired Bill Busch, a secondary guy, Aranda is able to spend more time on LB's, = '19 championship.

Good thing there's an entire country out there with guys that do have experience at high levels. Raymond isn't the only one. It's akin to taking a less talented player(Jyaire Brown) just because he has ties to LA. It's a recipe for failure.

No, he got lazy with recruiting and coaching his last four years and held LSU hostage...If he were so greal, Flordia wouldn't have fired him ALSO

Believe what you want my man. As soon as O let Aranda hire a coach, he hired a secondary guy. Aranda spent much of his time here, basically coaching the whole defense. The jump the defense made in '19, especially the LB's was mainly due to that fact.
